I bought one of these when they first came out. I was about 12 and saved for months. It was a huge disappointment. Out of the box, assembled according to the instructions the blades did not have enough pitch to generate lift. Turn? it on, release - and it fell right to the ground breaking both blades. After buying another set of blades (which were relatively expensive) I added small washers to give the blades more pitch. This time it few up, flipped over and slammed into the ground sideways.

I had one of these years ago. I was really surprised at how durable it was. The key, obviously, was maintaining forward motion, unless flying into a breeze of course, and if you didn't,? down it would go. But the thing never broke after many hard "landings". I had the Manta kit too, but never got around to trying it out.

Any why on earth the Japanese couldn't make mode1 and mode2 radios? Whats the problem with? it?
By: shebotnov. on 17 Sep 11, 11:06:02
Why do you keep saying that MODE1 is popular in EU? It isnt. Maybe in UK due to the wheel on the left, i dont know. Any "normal" person is used to the throttle on the left. ?

is it true about 4% of people can fly heli? I mean RC heli? I kinda dont believe it, you can teach a? bear ride bicycle, so you can teach a human anything

By: Schorhr. on 01 Oct 10, 18:25:33
Gosh I am still thinking of getting one, and I can still get the Apache version for ?79... Low funds though. Maybee for christmas... The Hyperfly just does not get out of my mind... Even though my cb100 probably beats it in many? ways :-)

Ohhh! So it's like if? you throw a frisby. Forward thrust simulates the spinning and this counter reacts the main rotor. Correct me if I missunderstood please! You are a genious sir! I'm making a Power Point presentation, and since I chose RC aircraft you are gonna be in it sir! I'm gonna show your genious NOTAR heli and I definatelly will recomend everybody who liked my presentation and are interested in RC to check you out! It's so nice to have a Veteran like you here on youtube! :)

With the invention of the ETRM helis with prices under $100 for Humming birds and Honeybees, they were finally discontinued, but with a 4 year longer run than most Models Kyosho? made, as I was told.

The Hyperfly was invented to fly so fellow (Already accomplished) RC PLANE FLIERS could get a taste of flying a helicopter and seeing what it looked like in the air with no wings. It was hard to fly helis back 25 years ago. They were all gas and no gyros, till the 2 CH Hyperfly came along. It was FUN and still is, as you can see? in my 300th video. It was not designed to fly 3D either. You dont buy a VW to run the Indy 500. It was just a simple heli demonstrator. Thanks for the comments.

Nope, the Honeybees are the best choice now, but? like you said....bigger.
By: NightFlyyer. on 21 Jul 09, 16:41:12
Thanks very kindly. We have come a? long way.

By: Schorhr. on 23 Jun 09, 10:28:09
Small update: :-) My mother threw away the Hyperfly when? she moved. But I found a Apache version in a german shop; New. Boxed. I am really thinking of spending the money, but I do not know if I can right now as I bought a few other things recently :-(

this? is very innovative and different, but if it's only for forward flight, why not just by a plane? still cool though lol

wow is there just any helicopter like this still being made? ive seen things like the syma sumthing sumthing but? these seem to do quite bad in all reviews. but about the hyperfly everyone says its nice i would love to have somthing like that not to hard to fly but no micro either :)

I remeber the days of Hyperfly mark one and two. I had only been in the hoby for about two years. Regretfully? I missed out on owning one of these innovative machines. Great video, it was very nice to see where this idea came from and to see one in action!
By: NightFlyyer. on 03 Apr 09, 22:55:48
I really appreciate your comments. It was designed for airplane pilots that? didn't want to learn to hover, but still say they could fly a helicopter.
By: NightFlyyer. on 03 Apr 09, 22:54:47
Your right. Keep it as a collectors item.? There are much better ones to fly these days anyway. Thanks.

About 10 years ago I saw one of those in a model shop for £200. I wanted one but never got round to it and got a plane. It's amazing how far things have come that you can now get a honey bee king for £120. Still, it was very impressive for it's time and I still wish I had got one? and maybe I would be a good pilot by now!
By: tsb247. on 31 Mar 09, 04:00:20
I flew mine once, crashed it, fixed it, and I have never? flown it since. I'm afraid to fly it now since there is no way to get parts for these anymore. :(

Your kidding of course, as it was the Number 1? largest selling product in Kyosho's history. Check out my other Hyperfly videos to see them fly in even the extreme winds, like "Will the Hyperfly Hover"? video. All mine still are flyable as you will see.
