To this day there are 2 Super Hero movies that get me, Batman 1989 and yes Superman 1978. I tear up everytime I see? this scene. Henry Cavill could put on a performance of a lifetime in The Man of Steel and wouldn't even scratch Chris's portrayal as Superman. Chris wasn't just another actor playing Superman, he WAS Superman and will be forever. May god bless his soul

You know, I loved the Avengers. Loved the Dark Knight Returns.? Loved Spider-Man and Thor. Heck, I even liked Daredevil. But no matter how many times I see this scene, I still break out into a smile and feel like clapping! This movie was the first. It is still the best!!

This is why the Superman theme is a must when making the The? Man Of Steel. It makes scenes feel epic and uplifting and can't be topped in my opinion no matter what they come up with.

Still super after all these years. And you'll note how this classic scene was re-created? in both Superman Returns and in the Smallville Finale. It's a cornerstone of modern mythology.
