Lowthertom, I was everything but bored.. It was quite a busy day for my few hours of training and I was very nervous.. When I gained confidence I started to? sound way happier. Sorry to give a boring impression.

QNH is one of the many Q codes. It is defined as, "barometric pressure adjusted to sea level." It is a pressure setting used by pilots, air traffic control (ATC), and low frequency weather beacons to refer to the? barometric setting which, when set on an aircraft's altimeter, will cause the altimeter to read altitude above mean sea level within a certain defined region.

Love the video with audio. Keep them coming, i'm working on my Instrument and see a need for great videos? like this for use as an instructor...when i get there. :) Cheers from across the pool [USA]!

Well we're all glad you made it back safely...lol. Glad you saw the humor in my comment. All? the best to ya mate and fly safely!

Lol! Lack? of experience i guess, that and the twitchy controls on the R22. Not as smooth as a Bell 47 is it! ;-) enjoy...

Whats with the yaw back and forth? I was getting dizzy watching. The winds were? only 8kts according to ATIS. Still enjoyed the flight in the UK though and the English accents...lol. Easy on those pedals my fellow aviator.

All major airports? are controlled but there are many smaller airports that aren't, I just happen to live an hour away from the airport in Southport so it was here, Blackpool or Barton near Manchester. (and they are all in controlled air space of one sort or another!)

thanks alan, can't imagine how hard? it was without the correlating throttle!

I learnt to fly on the R22 when they didn't have correlating throttle. Pain in the backside. But I? got used to it eventually. They are a good machine when you get used to them

Nice job flying! On my way to getting the? rotary wing, here in the states! Also with the R22! Question! How are you capturing ATC comm> what hardware are you using? Thanks

Nice,? didn't see my cousin's house on Brodie Ave, maybe next time! Thanks

Well done video! ? I'm just starting my rotorcraft add-on rating in the R22 and I wish I could track the centerline so expertly. I found out, for all you fellow beginners, that the cyclic doesn't really get "moved"; just "nudged", if that at all. The less one moves the sticks, the easier it is to control. Actually, you only have to apply pressure to the cyclic and think about where you want the helo to be. Good video, and a beautiful landscape too! Are all the airports in the UK controlled?
By: willnotallow1. on 11 Sep 09, 17:33:36
Done that. £250 for the hour, and took control for half hour or so. That stick is so hard to get used to,? as you feel it should move like fixed wing stick.

Costs almost half as much? as putting two in!
By: UKHelicopterPilot. on 04 Jul 09, 01:21:29
It is designed as a dual control ( or at least only as one cyclic emerging from the centre) with a handle for both the student and the instructor.... In this case i'm obviously? on my own so the dual controls can stay in... If i had a passenger they (the left controls) would have been removed...

Also allows instructors to feel how much? your using the stick, easier for teaching.

Hi. Fantastic Video. I'm currently? doing my fixed wing JAR PPL and this video is really helpful for helping me learn the R/T!

Great video! I did'nt realize that helicopters took off along a? runway. I thought they just went straight up from a helipad.

Thanks pal, my more recent video from? 27th August 2008 is filmed with a better camera, you can just about make out where some of the dials are at in high quality playback, see what you think of that one!
